The brief was to create a world-class swimming pool within the newly developed Jackalope Hotel. The swimming pool also needed to take advantage of the extensive views of the existing Willow Creek winery.
Construction of the 29.5m x 4.8m swimming pool was largely built out of the ground, in order to meet the eyeline of the new hotel and expansive grapevines. An engineered foundation system was installed prior to the pool base. The negative edge runs 38.6 lineal meters and was designed in such a way so as to reduce heat loss and evaporation rates that are typical with this type of detail.
